Basque Country 1994 Away Shirt

The away shirt from Astore's set for the Basque Country national team in 1993/94 and 1994/95, finished in red, white and green, the colours of the Basque flag. The side selects players from the Basque autonomous community, Navarre and the French Basque Country, and as it sits outside FIFA and UEFA it plays only friendly matches, usually over the Christmas break in La Liga.

Regular fixtures against full national teams only began around 1990, so a shirt from this era belongs to a young chapter in the team's history. Home matches are played at San Mames in Bilbao, and the squads of the period drew on names such as Txiki Begiristain and Julio Salinas.
